Small Amount ———> LARGE IMPACT
How much will it cost you to make a difference?
We estimate that the average monthly electricity use for an individual is about 250 kilowatt hours (kWh), and the average monthly electricity use for a household is about 750 kilowatt hours (kWh). We are offering GREEN electricity for just 1.5-2.5 cents per kWh more than you would pay for standard electricity. This means that for about $7 per person or about $19 per household you can have the security of knowing that your energy dollars are helping the environment, the economy and our security.
Now, for this month, in celebration of the season of giving, IDT ENERGY is giving away “Green Energy”. If you sign up this month till the end of December we will ‘upgrade’ your electricity to green for free.
This is a showing of our commitment to our environment …. and to you.

Decorating can be a hassle, but with a little planning, you can create a beautiful display that won’t have you saying “bah humbug” when the energy bill arrives.

From our friends at the New York Times:
The Bush administration has been on a six-year campaign to expand its powers, often beyond what the Constitution allows. So it is odd to hear it claim that it lacks the power to slow global warming by limiting the emission of harmful gases. But that is just what it will argue to the Supreme Court tomorrow, in what may be the most important…

PLANO, Texas (Reuters) - It can’t be good for your arteries but it is good for the environment.
In the U.S. South, folks like their Thanksgiving Day turkey deep fried — and the city of Plano north of Dallas collects the bird fat from residents for use in the biofuels industry.
“This is our busiest time, the week after Thanksgiving. We collect about 500 gallons of turkey fat during that time,” said Lois Woolf, a Plano City worker, as she hoisted a plastic container of oil left outside someone’s home for collection.

School officials are gearing up for a massive roof replacement project at New Britain High School that would incorporate the installation of electricity-generating solar technology.
Approved by the school board Monday as an upgraded version of a previously approved traditional roof replacement, the photovoltaic energy system integrated into the roofing material is expected to generate some 275 kilowatts of electricity, saving the district an estimated $40,000 annually in utility costs and at least $660,000 over 20 years.
